Curtis J. Dorval

Professional Storyteller - Director, Producer, Photographer, Writer
Curtis John Dorval is a United States Air Force Veteran and the current Digital Communications Manager for New York City's Department of Veterans' Services (NYC DVS). Additionally, Curtis is pursing his MFA from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. He lives in Queens with his amazing wife Amanda, his handsome and intelligent son Darius, and his loyal canine companion Peter. Curtis' passion is finding unique stories and bringing awareness to our shared humanity. With a commitment to sustainability, diversity, and empathy, he loves developing thought-provoking, unique narratives that entertain as well as inform.

Curtis has worked in almost every production role within the film industry and considers himself a "utility player." Some of the organizations he has worked for and in collaboration with are Green Lung Studios, Comedy Central, Anheuser-Buch InBev, Atlantic Pictures, Neymarc Visuals, Boulder Crest, Hoffman Productions, Handcraft MFG, Sustainable Westchester, as well as numerous student filmmakers.

Prior to enlisting in the Air Force, Curtis was heavily involved in his hometown community and high school. At Gardner High School, he served as President of his class, the National Art Honors Society, and the Drama Club (which he founded) while performing in four seasons of marching band, symphonic band, and seven different jazz bands. On top of this, Curtis performed in four theater productions and was nominated for a regional acting award with his role of Lockstock in "Urinetown".


After attending UMASS Amherst for Mechanical Engineering, Curtis then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 7 years. With a successful military career on his resume, he attended and graduated from Fordham University, Summa Cum Laude, majoring in communications and media studies. Ever in pursuit of education, Curtis then graduated from Fordham's journalism program, where he honed his storytelling techniques.
